Some people discovered that they are descended from a poor or working class, while others discovered they are descended from a royal ancestry. Have you ever heard the story of someone who was living in poverty, later to discover that he or she was actually a descendant of a royal and rich family? There are many stories like that, but the tragedy of our day is that billions of people in this world are living in physical, spiritual and emotional poverty because they don't know who they are!
Do you know who you are? Do you really know from whom you descend? Millions of people around the world believe that their great-great grandfather was a monkey. In South Africa we have a world heritage site called the "Cradle Of Humanity". Some people believe this was the origin of humanity. Some time ago I visited the Maropeng museum at the so-called "Cradle Of Humanity" and took these photos there.
It astonishes me that intelligent people can believe this! It is the more astonishing that millions of people prefer to believe this in spite of an overwhelming amount of evidence to the contrary. I want to tell you the truth! Your great-great grandfather and grandmother were Adam and Eve. You were created in the image of God! You were created to be a child of God in order to be part of the family of God, in exactly the same way a child born unto you is born in your image and part of your family!
If you were a king, what does that make your children? Princes and princesses, not so? Well, this may shock you, but you were created to be a prince and princess of God, the Creator of the universe, and His Kingdom! Dear friend, if you are a member of the human race (homo sapiens) you are a descendant of the Royal Family - not just any royal family - THE Royal Family. The 'blood' of God the Creator of the universe is 'running through your veins'!
This is the very foundation of the Christian faith and we read that in the very first chapter of the Bible, Gen 1:26-28: "Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;... let them have dominion over ... all the earth ... So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the ... earth.""
This dream firstly includes your relationship with Him and your spiritual well-being. However, it also includes your marriage and family life, your job and occupation, your finances, your home, yes even your sport and recreation. God's plan and purpose for your life is perfect and you are guaranteed to find perfect fulfillment therein. In fact, this is the only place where you will find perfect fulfillment. The pinnacle of fulfillment and happiness is to be found only in the centre of God's purpose and plan for your life!
If this is so, why then do so few people find their God-given purpose in life? Well, this is what the entire balance of the Bible message is all about and we want to guide you in a short and simple, but systematic manner through its truths in such a way that you will discover and realize your God-given purpose! The Bible is God's revelation of truth to humanity and in it's pages we find the true meaning and purpose of life!
One of the great truths I discovered when I realized God's plan and purpose for my own life, was that I possess spiritual power and authority through prayer. I discovered that I can influence and change people's lives and the world for the better through prayer. In fact I learned that as princes and princesses of God, God changes the world and establishes His Kingdom on earth through the prayers of His children. You can too when you realize your God-given purpose! One of the giants of the Christian faith, John Wesley, once said: "God does nothing but in answer to prayer."
